I have officially graduated from The University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, TV, and Film. It’s been a long journey and a very stressful one as well, but its over and now it’s time to move into the professional work space!

So we turned in all our projects, some of us at the last possible moment. We watched them all in class, of course none of them were perfect and could probably benefit from their creators gaining more experience but that is what the project is all about.

My project definitely didn’t come out how I wanted. I’ve decided I wont post it until I fix what I want and what others have told me would make it better. However when I do post it I will post both versions, what I turned in and what I am happy with. While I’m working on that I will leave you with my favorite shot from the current version.

The production on our final projects for Film Style Productions is heating up and my help has been requested for a couple of my friend’s projects. For one friend I will be helping with cinematography and the other with performing as on-screen talent in a mockumentary. Seeing as how I have a lot of free time on my hands I was able to produce some assets for her mockumentary. I went ahead and made a lower third template complete with a ufo theme that suits her projects topic.

I’ve recruited my girlfriend to help me with special effect makeup for my short film “Wrought”. She has experience in beauty makeup so we will we see how it goes. We’ve been experimenting with bruising makeup and liquid latex to create some effects we are aiming for.

My girlfriend’s sister has volunteered to be the actress so we tested the split lip on her.

As you can see, long way to go. We will make it though! I’ll post updates as we work through them.

I am hard at work on creating my final project for my Film Style Production class. It is titled “Wrought”.  For the past two years or so, whenever I go into pre-production on a project I always think to myself what do I want to experiment with on a technical level. For some of my previous projects it was single source interrogation style lighting, plastic bags over the camera a la “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” (2011). For this project my focus is going to go into sound effects (creepy scraping sounds and particular footsteps), color grading, and If I have the time matte painting.
